We know we cannot replace your regular Home but we will try to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Our Housing units consist of apartments and Mobile Homes. They are clean and comfortable. You will be assigned a bedroom unit based on what we feel your needs are. All bedrooms have key locks. All linens, pillows, towels, etc. are provided. You may want to bring your favorite pillow if it will help you sleep better as well as an alarm clock so you will be on time. We consider such things as whether you are flying in or driving to determine your location to the treatment facilities. We also consider the degree of disability, need for wheelchair ramps, etc. We try to place you in a unit sharing living areas with someone compatible. Although some are reluctant to share facilities, almost all come to realize how much they have in common. They learn to appreciate the company of others sharing the same problems and interests in dealing with disabilities along with learning about different therapies. This is a place where new lifelong friends are made.
In some units you will share a bath, but in most you will have a private bath. We try to meet your needs and make you as comfortable as possible.
You share kitchen and living room facilities. Kitchens are equipped with silverware, cooking utensils, pots, pans, bowls, required dishes, etc. Coffee pots, toasters, mixers, microwaves, etc. are in all kitchens. If you have a special need, advise us and we will try to help. We continue to make improvements as we go.
We try to provide plenty of comfortable seating in the living areas. All are equiped with TV's and VCR's and/or with DVD players. All have satellite recievers. All have telephones, but you will need a long distance card to call long distance. You can dial local and 800 numbers without a problem.
We now have wireless DSL at all our housing units.
We provide a shared computer at the center with DSL service to check your emails or do research. Of course, we ask that you be courteous in sharing computer time. We also have wireless if you have a laptop you would like to bring. Local numbers for AOL and others are not available in this area for dialup from the housing units since we are in a rural area.
All our units have wheelchair ramps except the ones we sometimes rent from other providers.
